Basics:
Welcome to Castle Wars!!! Castle Wars is a famous place in RuneScape. Often the first place Newbie Members choose to
go. This is a 'Safe' mini-game. If you die you won't lose anything. To see what to wear and what not to etc.,
see the Items sub-heading.
Location:
It is west of Yanille and South of Ardougne. The easiest way to get there is to make a Emerald Ring and enchant it. You
can see how on our
Magic guide.
Portals:
When inside you may notice 3 portals. There are a red, green,
and blue portals. They are gods. Check to see if there is a god guide. I am making one so it may
or may not be up yet.
Red - Zamorak AKA Zammy - Evil
Green - Guthix AKA none - Netrual
Blue - Saradomin AKA Sara - Good
The Guthix portal is a random chooser. If you don't care which team you are on choose Guthix (green).
Items:
You cannot wear helmets or capes into the arena. You also cannot take anything non-combative into the arena including
food. There are bandages to heal you. You can no longer bring in your cat!
It is recommended you take: Best possible armour, Weapon (such as longsword, scimitar or mace), Poisoned dagger of some
sort (perferably Dragon so you can use special attack). Also, a pickaxe above bronze is recommended to take with you. Do not
get too much stuff because you can use the inventory space later. It is also recommned to take some sort of ranged or magic stuff. You
can also pick up many arrows.
Skills:
There are no skills required to enter. Although, it is recommended that you have a 40 defence and 40-60 attack at
the least, and a high strength level. Also, 43+ prayer. (Protect from Melee). Ranging or maging is also useful to attack people
from far distances. (Suggested you use Steel- arrows.)
Waiting:
Each game takes 20 minites plus 5 minites after the game to let players put items in the bank, buy, sell and get
back into the portal. If you get unlucky, you could get up to 25 minites wait.
If you get bored you can get a God Amulet. These amulets are made out of silver. When you walk into a portal
with an amulet not of the god of the portal, they will curse you into an animal including sheeps, imps, and bunnies. Some
curse, aye?
If someone else logs out or stays in the respawn room too long, there will be an option to join the game. Most of the
time, they will leave if they began to lose or to get into the waiting room easier. It is easier to get in before the last
5 minites.
Respawn Room:
Turn off your auto attack so you won't stop running if attacked. You will start in the respwan room. If you stay
in this room for 2 minites without leaving, you will be thrown back into the waiting room. In this room the other team cannot
enter and you cannot be attacked.
DO NOT LEAVE AND RE-ENTER THE ROOM DURING THE ENTIRE GAME!!!
This is a safe mini-game. Even noobs are good! (Read more in "
War!" subheading.)
In the corner of the room is a tinderbox. The tinderbox can be used to torch catapults of your own team and
barricades of either team.
By the tinderboxes is a table with bandages. Bandages heal 10 hitpoints and restore 30% of your energy. They
will also cure you when you are poisoned. Pick up several and keep with you.
In the other corner is a portal. This portal will take you back to the waiting room.
By the portal is a ladder. This ladder leads up into a little room. You will see some stairs. Up these stairs is the
flag [AKA Standard]. IT MUST BE PROTECTED!!!
By scoring you need to get the other teams flag. This means protect yours! You have to take their flag and go to your
flag and press "Capture Standard" on yours to get a point. It's a long walk and bandages will give you energy so have some
with you.
Defence:
Remember to use each other and keep the doors locked and closed. Don't send too many people after the flag at the same
time. Send 2 or 3. Make sure they go in different directions and they have bandges (for energy) and good defence.
You should have some the highest rangers on the walls and the best attackers guarding the flag.
When above ground, there are many ways to go about getting their castle. To start off, here is a map:
